...I met her long ago, in the dimension of Anytown. Her name was Kasumi, and she was a jounin-class kunoichi in her home world, a ninja who'd retired from traditional missions in order to take a more active role in governing her village.

I first met her when an environmental phenomenon swept over the world that caused people to fall in love at first sight.


[her smile takes a turn for the sheepish here.]

I was...unprepared.

But did you really feel it? I mean, she does sound lovely, but... well...

[she's had her fait share of dimension influenced feeling manipulation and isn't a fan]

[Momo can tell where you're heading, and she wholeheartedly reassures:]

Don't worry. I was under the influence, but Kasumi-san herself was not; she was very kind and understanding with me, even though I was terribly awkward about my new feelings and...speaking to someone other than Saul-san. It possibly happened before I'd even met you.

And I did meet her several times afterward. We talked about different things and I came to truly enjoy her company. It wasn't long at all before I started looking forward to seeing her; she was one of my first friends.

Can you still meet up with her?

No...I kept traveling to Anytown, but Kasumi-san stopped appearing altogether. I haven't seen her in...[pause to think]...possibly two standard Earth years.

It's alright. I miss her sometimes...but I hope she's well, wherever she is. It's possible she simply went back home.

To be honest, I was more distraught at the time. I'd never had to cope with losing a friend before, so...when I wanted to see Kasumi-san again and couldn't...I fell into a melancholy at first, but one day it became too much and I just started crying. I was heartbroken.

[A small smile graces her face as she reaches a slightly happier -- yes, this counts as happier -- memory from that time.]

Saul-san did his best to comfort me, but...he didn't really know what to do. It was his first time seeing me that upset.

...Truly, I believe that was his first time dealing with someone else's feeling of loss. It was strange new territory for both of us.

I still have my happy memories to hold on to, and I'm grateful for that. But even now...I would enjoy meeting her again.
