Good news, I'll be moving to other place for full time job, staying with my sister and yay~ more money~ I can have my freedom time, not doing choirs much like I did at home and more illustrating Vocaloid arts and song covers. I used to doing that during my practical, now I'm living by my own.
For (not really)bad news, I'll be less RP with you guys due to my eight hours work, but I'm keeping my active muses here, and probably will drop few from 'Less active' that I didn't RP muchdarn idk who. Aside from that, I'll be around my nights (having Kyt, Tam and Oreo accompany me, maybe?) and do backtaggings if I'm allowed. Those upcoming events won't stop me!
Anyway, I'm still in love with this place, hardly for me to leave. You guys rock! \^-^/

I have had plans to run a His Dark Materials-type AU thing with daemons for a while (for those who have never read the books (The Golden Compass/The Northern Lights, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass) and don't know what that means, the premise is basically OH LOOK your soul/conscience is now outside your body in a ~highly symbolic~ animal form, a better primer on it is over here although I'll probably ramble about more stuff that isn't on that in a post on Kaito's journal)! My original plan was a seperate event week, but then Des was like ACTUALLY I'M DOING A GENERIC AU WEEK, WANNA SHOEHORN IT IN THERE? And I said yes, because the whole idea behind daemons is kind of involved and I thought not too many people would want to put in the work required to play it out.
...and then a whole bunch of people on Plurk went THAT SOUNDS COOL, WHY NOT DO A FULL EVENT? SO! Now that I cannot make up my mind, have a serious poll, guys! Who would rather this just be part of the canon-swap event, and who would rather it be an event of it's own?

Feb. 26th, 2012 10:54 pmcowardsoftwareI'M GLAD YOU ASKED! I've been itching to do another one of my event ideas pitched prior, however I know we just had an event so I am here to ask what would be a good time for everyone if we were to do the Canon Swap Event!
As a reminder, this would be an event where you make your characters have traits, powers, or total history upheavals, from other canons! Alternatively, to straight up transport characters to different canon worlds and let them run free! That's not limited to other stories in Vocaloid; that is ANY CANON. A good example of this would be the Hogwarts post from Grab Bag Week, or that time when we all became meguca.
Therefore, please take the time to answer this poll:

A bit of a slowdown on my side

I'm currently doing a lot of volunteer work, which I'm super excited to be a part of because it ultimately means good things for me and others. However, this also means that I'll probably be slower with tags and new posts. I don't see it becoming a huge slowdown, but I am going to be slower than I have been, some days more than others.
Now back to your regularly scheduled VDR styled crazy. =)

My name is Sel and while I've been roleplaying for a very, very long time, I'm very new to the Vocaloid fandom! You can thank the beautiful art and music for bringing me in here and inspiring me to create this gal and give her a shot.
I'll be bringing in Megurine Luka from the Just Be Friends canon. Since I'm so new to Vocaloid, I'm not quite sure if I have her persona down completely, so I'd love it if anyone would feel comfortable giving me some criticism so that I can improve. I should have a screened HMD up in this journal in a few days!
Other than that, I'm really excited to play with you guys so far and interact with this great community. You all have been so welcoming, I was really pleasantly surprised! ♡♡ Happy Valentine's Day (by the way)!

So there has been some requests for it to not just be Yandere Valentines, but instead cover all of the dere family. And I am fine with that!! We'll do it that way, so people can become yandere, tsundere, deredere or whatever other kind of cliche anime love you want your characters to fall into. :P
I'm thinking of doing it from February 5-13th so that maybe people can return to normal on Valentine's Day itself? Or should it start on V-Day and last a week?
And for the event tag... "[event] febudere" ?
Tell me what you think about those ideas, and in the meantime, those who wanna participate: Post here with your characters (individually) and then plot with each other for who you want your character to fall in awesome dere love with. Alternatively, you can say "Randomize me" and I'll throw those people's names together from a hat or something.
Oh and for our friends still on LJ, would anyone be willing to crosspost this/run it over there?

EVENT IDEAS

Yandere Valentine's Since February is coming up! Characters become dangerously obsessive over someone from their CR or a random matchup by Cupid if needed. (Or we could shake the yandere and make it an event where people straight fall in love, but c'mon, we need another violent one.)
Past/Future Event I suggested this already around Christmas but kinda dropped the ball thanks to LJ making a mess of everything - but basically, this would be an event where event'd characters are pulled from a different canon point. Play them from sometime in their past or future.
AU/Canon Swap Event This would cover a lot of things. People could make a post like the Hogwarts AU one I did during grab bag, or like the Pokemon meme we've done a couple times: basically, where everyone in it is from the AU. Or, people could make a post where only their character is AU from a different canon (or other AU, like maybe a personal storyline you have going with another mun - I know some of us have them), and then they can interact with normal people/people from other AUs. Both would be good!
That's what I got so far, what do you think? Other ideas? Let's goto space !

I've just finished up cleaning tags, which means there are no longer any typoed/unused tags floating around! That's right I saw all your embarrassing typos what about it. You know who you are.
Characters with multiple tags (such as 'kagamine rin'/'rin kagamine' and 'gakupo'/'kamui gakupo') have been merged to avoid confusing people, and by some miracle, there weren't any multiple Luka tags. Canons with multiple tags have been fixed too.
As for those [general] and 'general' tags, the former was deleted since you should use [canon] general (don't worry, I tagged all the posts accordingly before I did so), and the latter has been changed to [mingle post] which should be used for mingle posts from now on! Anyone can dig back and tag old mingle posts. It would be greatly appreciated as well.

State of the DR

So I'm working on catching up, and of course specifically with this post. As of right this moment, my answer is... um, completely non-committal. While I recognize that the majority of members are up for hopping over to Dreamwidth, I'd like to take a while to let the dust settle as everyone else slams the import - and consequently the DW servers - into the ground. Not to mention that even if I wanted to immediately leap the DR over there I couldn't, because somehow our community has waaaay over one hundred thousand comments.
(Which is, uh, a surprise, to say the least!)
Anyway, in the meantime please, please if you've got any further thoughts comment to that post or to this one, since I'm still watching it on a regular basis and popping in to mention things. If nothing else I would like to see if we can have two versions of the DR going, one on each site. While it's fair to guess that one would end up being more popular than the other, it'll at least allow those who are non-committal or not worried where they play to be able to play at either, and won't leave any members suddenly out in the cold or forgotten. Thoughts? Is this too waffly?
Finally, a happy new year to you all. Rest assured that whatever happens you are all pretty badass.
